It reads sound files in any format supported by GStreamer and outputs them in Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, or WAV format, or MP3 format if you have the <a href=\"http:\/\/packages.ubuntu.com\/search?keywords=lame\" target=\"_blank\">GStreamer LAME plugin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>SoundConverter aims to be simple to use, and very fast. Thanks to its multithreaded design, it will use as many cores as possible to speed up the conversion. It can also extract the audio from videos.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tutorial Objectives:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Install SoundConverter 2.1.1 on Ubuntu 13.04, 12.10, 12.04<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To get started, add the GetDeb repository. To do so, press <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> to open terminal. When it opens, run below commands to add the repository:<\/p>\n<pre>wget http:\/\/archive.getdeb.net\/install_deb\/getdeb-repository_0.1-1~getdeb1_all.deb\n\nsudo dpkg -i getdeb-repository_0.1-1~getdeb1_all.deb<\/pre>\n<p>Then you can search for and install <i>soundconverter<\/i> via synaptic package manager.
