It provides the real time feedback we need to not only answer questions about our code, but to understand how our programs really work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/LightTable-Ubuntu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/LightTable-Ubuntu.jpg\" alt=\"LightTable IDE Ubuntu\" width=\"468\" height=\"251\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1558\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/LightTable-Ubuntu.jpg 468w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/LightTable-Ubuntu-300x160.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Install Light Table IDE:<\/h3>\n<p>1.) Download Light Table from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lighttable.com\/\" title=\"Light Table Homepage\" target=\"_blank\">its homepage<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2.) For global use, extract the download package and put the result folder to <b>\/opt\/<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p>3.) You need to open Nautilus file browser as root to copy and paste <b>Light Table Folder<\/b> to <b>\/opt\/<\/b>. To do so, press <u>Alt+F2<\/u> on your keyboard and type to run <code>gksudo nautilus<\/code><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/open-nautilus-asroot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/open-nautilus-asroot.jpg\" alt=\"open nautilus as root\" width=\"363\" height=\"210\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/open-nautilus-asroot.jpg 363w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/open-nautilus-asroot-300x173.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once done, you can open the IDE via command terminal:<\/p>\n<pre>\/opt\/LightTable\/LightTable<\/pre>\n<p><b>NOTE:<\/b> If you have problem launching it in Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, run below command to fix:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>for 32-bit:\n<pre>sudo ln -sf \/lib\/i386-linux-gnu\/libudev.so.1 \/lib\/i386-linux-gnu\/libudev.so.0<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>for 64-bit:\n<pre>sudo ln -sf \/lib\/x86_64-linux-gnu\/libudev.so.1 \/lib\/x86_64-linux-gnu\/libudev.so.0<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Create Launcher for Light Table<\/h3>\n<p>1.) Press <u>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/u> on your keyboard to open terminal. When it opens, run below commands to install required package:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt-get install gnome-panel --no-install-recommends<\/pre>\n<p>2.)
