This tutorial shows how to install the latest RedNotebook (so far it&#8217;s 1.7.3) via PPA in Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 13.10, Ubuntu 13.04, Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 10.04 and Linux Mint.<\/p>\n<p>RedNotebook features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tagging<\/li>\n<li>Format your text\u00a0<strong>bold<\/strong>,\u00a0<em>italic<\/em>\u00a0or\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">underlined<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Insert Images, files and links to websites<\/li>\n<li>Links and mail addresses are recognized automatically<\/li>\n<li>Spell Check on Linux<\/li>\n<li>Live-Search<\/li>\n<li>Automatic saving<\/li>\n<li>Backup to zip archive<\/li>\n<li>Word Clouds with most often used words and tags<\/li>\n<li>Templates<\/li>\n<li>Export the journal to PDF, HTML, Latex or plain text<\/li>\n<li>The data is stored in plain text files, no database is needed<\/li>\n<li>Translated into more than 30 languages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Changes in RedNotebook 1.7.3:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jump to a specific date on startup with &#8220;&#8211;date 2013-10-31&#8221; on the commandline (Rob Norris).<\/li>\n<li>Display current date in the title bar (Rob Norris).<\/li>\n<li>Support inserting multiple pictures in one step.<\/li>\n<li>Add DejaVu Sans as font fallback for clouds and preview.<\/li>\n<li>Fix setting last image directory for insert dialog.<\/li>\n<li>Only allow exporting selected text if we are in edit mode (lp:1221792).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To add the RedNotebook official PPA and install the app, press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open terminal.
