Well, there&#8217;s a good news! Linux Mint developer has made a few backports from Petra to Maya. Which means you can now upgrade to <b>MDM 1.4<\/b>, <b>Cinnamon 2.0<\/b> or <b>MATE 1.6<\/b>, and the latest versions of mintwelcome, mintstick, mintnanny, mintupload, mintupdate, mintinstall, mintsystem, mintmenu, and mintdesktop in Mint 13 Maya from the Mint backport repository.<\/p>\n<p><b>To get started:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Open up <b>Software Sources<\/b> from start menu. In the first tab, check the box which says &#8220;Backported packages (backport)&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/software-sources-backport.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/software-sources-backport.jpg\" alt=\"enable backports repository Mint \" width=\"550\" height=\"464\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2586\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/software-sources-backport.jpg 550w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/software-sources-backport-300x253.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Launch the <b>Update Manager<\/b> from Menu.
