It&#8217;s easy to install it on Linux systems, all you need to do is download the installer and start it in terminal.<\/p>\n<h3>Common pre-requisites:<\/h3>\n<p>1. Make sure you have Oracle VirtualBox 4.1.18+ installed. Ubuntu 13.04 and higher can installed it from Ubuntu Software Center. For Ubuntu 12.04, please download the latest version from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualbox.org\/wiki\/Linux_Downloads\" title=\"Virtualbox for Linux download page\" target=\"_blank\">virtualbox.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>2. About 5GB of free disk space is required.<\/p>\n<p>3. 4GB of RAM or more is recommended.<\/p>\n<h3>Download &#038; Install:<\/h3>\n<p>1. Download the SDK for Linux from <a href=\"https:\/\/sailfishos.org\/\" title=\"Sailfish OS homepage\" target=\"_blank\">Sailfish OS official site<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t know which OS type you&#8217;re on. Press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open terminal, and run command below:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">getconf LONG_BIT<\/pre>\n<p>2. Once downloaded, you have to give executable permission to the .run file by:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">chmod +x ~\/Downloads\/SailfishOSSDK-*-offline.run<\/pre>\n<p>3. Start the installer by:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">.\/Downloads\/SailfishOSSDK-*-offline.run<\/pre>\n<p>In step 2 &#038; 3 you may change the installer name to yours.<\/p>\n<p>4.
