Because Ubuntu stores icons in <b>\/usr\/share\/icons<\/b> for global and user&#8217;s <b>.icons<\/b> folder for single use, all you need to do is put your icon theme folder into one of previous location and that&#8217;s it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/icons-folder.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/icons-folder.jpg\" alt=\"Ubuntu Icons Theme Folder\" width=\"580\" height=\"355\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2854\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/icons-folder.jpg 580w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/icons-folder-300x183.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>To install Faenza icons:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Download the latest package at <a href=\"https:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/faenza-icon-theme\/downloads\/list\" target=\"_blank\">Google Code<\/a>. So far, it is Faenza 1.3.<\/p>\n<p>2. Extract the package and you&#8217;ll see Faenza-Radiace, Faenza-Darkest, Faenza-Darker, Faenza-Dark, Faenza-Ambiance and Faenza packages.<\/p>\n<p>3 Unpack all of them and move the result folders to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For single use, move them to <b>.icons<\/b> folder. Under your home folder, press Ctrl+H to view\/hide hidden folders. Create one if .icons is not exist.<\/i>\n<li>For global use, move them to <b>\/usr\/share\/icons\/<\/b> folder. You&#8217;ll need to press <b>Alt+F2<\/b> and run <b>gksudo nautilus<\/b> to open file browser with root to do copy and paste things.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>To make the installation easy:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Download the Deb package below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~tiheum\/+archive\/equinox\/+files\/faenza-icon-theme_1.3.1_all.deb\">faenza-icon-theme_1.3.1_all.deb<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Double-click the package and click <i>Install<\/i> button in pop-up Ubuntu Software Center will install the theme into \/usr\/share\/icons\/.<\/p>\n<p><b>Apply Faenza Icons:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Open Unity Tweak Tool or Gnome Tweak Tool.
