See <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libreoffice.org\/download\/4-2-new-features-and-fixes\/\" title=\"LibreOffice 4.2 New Features and Fixes.\" target=\"_blank\">what&#8217;s new in LibreOffice 4.2<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>To install LibreOffice 4.2 in Ubuntu:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Press <u>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/u> on keyboard to open the terminal. When it opens, run the command below to remove the previous installation:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*<\/pre>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/remove-libreoffice.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/remove-libreoffice.png\" alt=\"Remove LibreOffice\" width=\"580\" height=\"57\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2935\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/remove-libreoffice.png 580w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/remove-libreoffice-300x29.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Download:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/download.documentfoundation.org\/libreoffice\/stable\/4.2.0\/deb\/x86\/LibreOffice_4.2.0_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz\">LibreOffice_4.2.0_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz (<b>32 bit<\/b>)<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/download.documentfoundation.org\/libreoffice\/stable\/4.2.0\/deb\/x86_64\/LibreOffice_4.2.0_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz\">LibreOffice_4.2.0_Linux_x86-64_deb.tar.gz (<b>64 bit<\/b>)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.libreoffice.org\/download\/\" title=\"LibreOffice Download Page\" target=\"_blank\">this page<\/a> when a new release is out.<\/p>\n<p>4. Right on the downloaded package and extract it. After that, you&#8217;ll see the result folder: <b>LibreOffice_4.2.0.4_Linux_x86-64_deb<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/extract-libreoffice.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/extract-libreoffice.png\" alt=\"extract libreoffice package\" width=\"420\" height=\"293\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2936\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/extract-libreoffice.png 420w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/extract-libreoffice-300x209.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 420px) 100vw, 420px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>5. In previous terminal window (or press <u>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/u> to open a new one), run the command below to navigate to LibreOffice folder:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">cd ~\/Downloads\/LibreOffice_4.2.0*<\/pre>\n<p>You may replace &#8220;<b>LibreOffice_4.2.0*<\/b>&#8221; with your full folder name.<\/p>\n<p>6.
