All users of the 3.13 kernel series are urged to upgrade as soon as possible.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Linux kernel 3.13.3 brings updated architectures, including ARM and x86, numerous updates drivers (i915, nouveau, radeon ,and usb), as well as a few bug fixes. For details, see <a href=\"https:\/\/lkml.org\/lkml\/2014\/2\/13\/516\" title=\"Kernel 3.13.3\" target=\"_blank\">the announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Install \/ Upgrade to Kernel 3.13.3:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Ubuntu Kernel Team has build the deb packages which are available in <a href=\"http:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/~kernel-ppa\/mainline\/v3.13.3-trusty\/\" title=\"Kernel 3.13.3 Deb download page\" target=\"_blank\">this page<\/a>. Low-latency Kernel packages are included.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re comfortable with command line, you can also follow the steps below to download &#038; install this kernel:<\/p>\n<p>1. Download Kernel DEBs:<\/p>\n<p>For 32-bit system:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">wget http:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/~kernel-ppa\/mainline\/v3.13.3-trusty\/linux-headers-3.13.3-031303-generic_3.13.3-031303.201402131842_i386.deb\n\nwget http:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/~kernel-ppa\/mainline\/v3.13.3-trusty\/linux-headers-3.13.3-031303_3.13.3-031303.201402131842_all.deb\n\nwget http:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/~kernel-ppa\/mainline\/v3.13.3-trusty\/linux-image-3.13.3-031303-generic_3.13.3-031303.201402131842_i386.deb<\/pre>\n<p>For 64 bit system:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">wget http:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/~kernel-ppa\/mainline\/v3.13.3-trusty\/linux-headers-3.13.3-031303-generic_3.13.3-031303.201402131842_amd64.deb\n\nwget http:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/~kernel-ppa\/mainline\/v3.13.3-trusty\/linux-headers-3.13.3-031303_3.13.3-031303.201402131842_all.deb\n\nwget http:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/~kernel-ppa\/mainline\/v3.13.3-trusty\/linux-image-3.13.3-031303-generic_3.13.3-031303.201402131842_amd64.deb<\/pre>\n<p>2. Install all the packages:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo dpkg -i linux-headers-3.13.3-*.deb linux-image-3.13.3-*.deb<\/pre>\n<p>Once installed, restart your computer and done.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re using a proprietary video driver, you may need to re-build or re-install to get it work with the new kernel.<\/p>\n<p>If for some reason this kernel release doesn&#8217;t work properly for you, reboot into previous kernel (Grub -> Advanced -> select previous kernel) and run this command to remove Linux Kernel 3.13.3:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get remove linux-headers-3.13.3-* linux-image-3.13.3-*<\/pre>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The latest Linux Kernel 3.13.3 has been announced today.
