Well, this simple tutorial will show you how.<\/p>\n<p>Below steps will give <b>lightdm<\/b> user access to the X-Server and open <b>dconf-Editor<\/b> to change the settings of Unity Greeter.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open the terminal. When it opens, run the command below to install dconf-editor:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get install dconf-editor<\/pre>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> Run command to get the root user privilege:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo -i<\/pre>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> Allow user <b>lightdm<\/b> to create a connection to the X server:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">xhost +SI:localuser:lightdm<\/pre>\n<p><b>4.<\/b> Switch to user <b>lightdm<\/b> in this terminal window.<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">su lightdm -s \/bin\/bash<\/pre>\n<p><b>5.<\/b> Now you can start the dconf-editor via this user by running:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">dconf-editor<\/pre>\n<p>When the tool opens, navigate to <b>com \u2013> canonical \u2013> unity-greeter<\/b>.
