Technical changes by Cloudflare caused significant issues with HTTP access to any site using them &#8211; metadata sources, for example &#8211; and we need to put in a quick workaround before everyone gets too upset; while 19.x &#8220;Matrix&#8221; is close, it&#8217;s not close enough to leave these issues unaddressed. So, as we&#8217;re building that new code, we thought that we might as well fix a couple of other regressions while we&#8217;re here.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Changes in <a href=\"https:\/\/kodi.tv\/article\/kodi-leia-189-release\" target=\"_blank\">Kodi 18.9<\/a> also include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fix memory leaks in TexturePacker<\/li>\n<li>Fix event server unable to send raw key strikes<\/li>\n<li>Fix issues around directory navigation and incorrectly-set start directories<\/li>\n<li>Fix MediaCodec OES\/EGL rendering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/kodi-splash189.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"273\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32879\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/kodi-splash189.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/kodi-splash189-450x205.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>How to Install Kodi 18.9 in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~team-xbmc\/+archive\/ubuntu\/ppa\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kodi Team PPA<\/a> has made the new release packages for all current Ubuntu releases and derivatives.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open <u>terminal<\/u> either from application menu or by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard.
