Here&#8217;s how to install it in Ubuntu, Linux Mint.<\/p>\n<p>Though it&#8217;s a bug-fix version, TeXstudio 3.0.2 was released after two beta test releases. It features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Add large number of default dictionaries.<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Handle \\tabularnewline correctly<\/li>\n<li>Fix text insertion on selected text<\/li>\n<li>Change behavior for cut buffer and Ctrl+e (insert env).<\/li>\n<li>Add texdoc as selectable command<\/li>\n<li>Windows build now uses 64 bit and can handle larger documents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/textsudio302.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"357\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33151\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/textsudio302.png 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/textsudio302-450x268.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>How to Install TeXstudio 3.0.2 in Ubuntu:<\/h3>\n<h4>Non-install Appimage:<\/h4>\n<p>The editor offers official <code style=\"border:none;\">Appimage<\/code> package, available to download at the link below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href='https:\/\/github.com\/texstudio-org\/texstudio\/releases' class='arconix-button-flat arconix-button-large arconix-button-tan' target=\"_blank\" >TeXstudio Github Releases<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Just grab the <i>.appimage<\/i> package, add &#8220;allow executing as program&#8221; in file&#8217;s <b>Properties -> Permissions<\/b> dialog, and finally run it to launch TeXstudio.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/texstudio302-appimage.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"329\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33152\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/texstudio302-appimage.png 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/texstudio302-appimage-450x247.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Install the LaTeX editor via PPA:<\/h4>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~sunderme\/+archive\/ubuntu\/texstudio\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">official TeXstudio PPA<\/a> maintains the software packages for Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 20.10.<\/p>\n<p><i>While the PPA is not updated for the new release at the moment, you may <a href=\"https:\/\/software.opensuse.org\/download.html?project=home:jsundermeyer&#038;package=texstudio\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">grab the .deb binary from OBS repository<\/a> (official).<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Once the PPA is updated with the new release packages, you can do following steps one by one to install it:<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open terminal either by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard or by searching for &#8216;terminal&#8217; from software launcher.
