Youtubedl-gui<\/a> is a simple new graphical interface for the popular command-line YouTube downloader youtube-dl.<\/p>\n

The tool is quite simple to use, just paste the video URL, select audio quality and format, video resolution and format, and click download! And of course, there’s an option to change the destination folder of your downloads.<\/p>\n

Once you click download, a small dialog will pop up with the process bar.<\/p>\n

How to Install Youtubedl-gui in Ubuntu:<\/h3>\n

Just note for legal reasons you need permission to download videos from youtube.<\/div><\/div>\n

The software developer maintains an Ubuntu PPA contains the packages for Ubuntu 20.04<\/b>, Ubuntu 20.10<\/b>, and Linux Mint 20<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Open terminal<\/code> from system application launcher and do following steps one by one:<\/p>\n

1.)<\/b> Run commands one by one to install the latest youtube-dl if you don’t have it:<\/p>\n

sudo wget https:\/\/yt-dl.org\/downloads\/latest\/youtube-dl -O \/usr\/local\/bin\/youtube-dl\r\n\r\nsudo chmod a+rx \/usr\/local\/bin\/youtube-dl<\/pre>\n
2.)<\/b> Add the developer’s PPA<\/a> by running command:<\/p>\n
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mordec13\/youtubedl-gui<\/pre>\n

3.)<\/b> Finally install the tool:<\/p>\n
sudo apt install youtubedl-gui<\/pre>\n

Uninstall Youtubedl-gui:<\/h3>\n
For any reason, you can remove the software easily via command:<\/p>\n
sudo apt remove youtubedl-gui<\/pre>\n
And remove the Ubuntu PPA either via Software & Updates -> Other Software<\/b> or by running command:<\/p>\n
