Since Ubuntu dropped old Gnome 2 libraries from the main repositories, Shutter is removed too from Ubuntu repository.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/shutter-focal-small.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"374\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33347\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The project now is working on <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/shutter-project\/shutter\/issues\/285\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">removing old dependency libraries<\/a> and getting back into Linux Distros&#8217; (Arch Linux, Debian, Ubuntu) repositories. And the release of version 0.95 is the first step in the process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/shutter-project\/shutter\/releases\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shutter 0.95<\/a> changelog:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Almost fully dropped the dependency on the outdated Perl Gnome2 library<\/li>\n<li>Update translations.<\/li>\n<li>Removed dependencies: Arch: gnome-perl, gnome-vfs-perl; Debian: libgnome2-perl, libgnome2-vfs-perl<\/li>\n<li>New dependencies:\n<ul>\n<li>Arch: perl-number-bytes-human, perl-glib-object-introspection<\/li>\n<li>Debian: libnumber-bytes-human-perl, libglib-object-introspection-perl<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Install Shutter in Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 20.10:<\/h3>\n<p>Shutter packages as well as missing dependencies are now available in a <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~linuxuprising\/+archive\/ubuntu\/shutter\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">trusted third-party PPA<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Open terminal either via Ctrl+Alt+T keyboard shortcut, or from application launcher.
