It is a super compact window widget with a few control buttons, and displays the current radio station and playing song name. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/shortwave-miniplayer.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"188\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33571\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Other changes in <a href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.gnome.org\/World\/Shortwave\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shortwave 2.0.0<\/a> include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Show system notification when start playing a new song.<\/li>\n<li>Redesign the station details window, and add ability to copy the stream URL.<\/li>\n<li>Improved keyboard navigation of the user interface.<\/li>\n<li>Prevent system from going suspend or hibernate during audio playback.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And Shortwave now is built as <b>GTK4<\/b> application. For the UI, you&#8217;ll see the bottom corners rounded.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/shortwave-dark-window.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"353\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33572\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>How to Install Shortwave 2.0.0 in Ubuntu:<\/h3>\n<p>The radio player is available in Ubuntu Software as Snap package, it is however not updated at the moment of writing.<\/p>\n<p>Besides building from source\uff08<i>impossible as it depends GTK4<\/i>), so far the only way is installing the containerised Flatpak package.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.)<\/b> Open terminal either from system application menu or by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard.
