Dash-to-Plank is the GNOME Shell extension to integrate it in Ubuntu.<\/p>\n<p>Besides <i>Dash-to-Dock<\/i> and <i>Dash-to-Panel<\/i>, this is the third &#8216;Dash-to&#8217; extension I&#8217;ve heard about. It&#8217;s Gnome Shell integration for <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/plank\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Plank<\/a>, the simplest dock on the planet. <\/p>\n<h3>Why Plank?<\/h3>\n<p>For me, the only reason to use Plank instead of Ubuntu Dock (<i>Dash-to-Dock<\/i>) is that there are tons of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gnome-look.org\/browse\/cat\/273\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Plank themes<\/a> available in the web, so I can change its look and feel at will.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dash2plank-ubuntu.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dash2plank-ubuntu-small.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33617\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Install Dash-to-Plank:<\/h3>\n<p><b>1.)<\/b> Firstly, you have to install plank by running command in terminal (<i>press <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> to open terminal<\/i>):<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt install plank<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/apt-plank-focal.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"295\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33618\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Though I&#8217;m not sure, before installing the extension system restart is required.<\/p>\n<p><b>2.)<\/b> Install the <code style=\"border:none;\">chrome-gnome-shell<\/code> package if you&#8217;re first time to install a Gnome Shell extension.<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt install chrome-gnome-shell<\/pre>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/chrome-gshell.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"139\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9943\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/chrome-gshell.png 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/chrome-gshell-450x104.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>3.)<\/b> Finally <a href=\"https:\/\/extensions.gnome.org\/extension\/4198\/dash-to-plank\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">go to the extension web page<\/a> and turn on the toggle icon to install it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/dash-to-plank.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"368\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-33619\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t see the toggle icon?
