It aims to recreate classic Opera (12.x) UI using Qt5.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>As you may know, the last release of Opera for Linux is one year ago on June 3, 2013, and there probably won&#8217;t be a new release because Opera has abandoned the Linux platform (See <a href=\"https:\/\/news.ycombinator.com\/item?id=7129955\" target=\"_blank\">the Hacker News<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otter-browser-window.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otter-browser-window.png\" alt=\"otter browser in ubuntu 14.04\" width=\"600\" height=\"387\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otter-browser-window.png 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/otter-browser-window-300x193.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Otter browser aims to provide users who like the classic Opera interface and functionality. The browser is based on the QtWebKit, but the author plans to add support for other browser engines. <\/p>\n<p>The developer notes that Otter won&#8217;t be a full clone of Opera. It will lack some features, Unity or widget supports for instance, and improve others.<\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE: Otter browser is in very early stage. It may or may not work, use it at your own risk.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href='http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/otter-browser\/files\/' class='arconix-button arconix-button-large arconix-button-blue' target=\"_blank\" >Download Otter Browser<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ubuntu users download the <b>.deb<\/b> package and click install via Software Center.
