User now can toggle on\/off <i>Reader mode<\/i> by right-clicking on lower right HTML view area via context menu option. And, it now allows to convert TinyTinyRSS subscriptions to local scriptions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/liferea-feedreader.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/liferea-feedreader-600x351.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"351\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-36142\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/liferea-feedreader-600x351.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/liferea-feedreader-300x176.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/liferea-feedreader-768x450.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/liferea-feedreader.webp 1098w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other changes in <a href=\"https:\/\/lzone.de\/liferea\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Liferea<\/a> 1.13.7 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support for user-agent string customization and anonymization.<\/li>\n<li>Add &#8216;Always show in Reduced Feed List&#8217; option in news bin properties.<\/li>\n<li>Execute feed pipe\/filter commands asynchronously.<\/li>\n<li>Fix HTML view blanking when following links by left click<\/li>\n<li>Fix UI blocking when using command pipes or feed filters<\/li>\n<li>Fix truncated content after Youtube embeds<\/li>\n<li>Fix wrong (doubled) number of unread items<\/li>\n<li>And other fixes, translation and documentation updates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Install Liferea in Ubuntu Linux:<\/h3>\n<p>The RSS feed reader is available to install via universal <a href=\"https:\/\/flathub.org\/apps\/details\/net.sourceforge.liferea\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Flatpak package<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some users stick to the native deb package, so I uploaded it into may <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/apps\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">personal PPA<\/a> for <b>Ubuntu 20.04<\/b>, <b>Ubuntu 21.04<\/b>, <b>Ubuntu 21.10<\/b> and derivatives, e.g., Linux Mint 20. Due to outdated dependency library, Ubuntu 18.04 is not supported in this PPA.<\/p>\n<h4>1. Add the Ubuntu PPA:<\/h4>\n<p>First, either search for and open terminal from start menu, or simply press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard. When terminal opens, run command to add the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/apps<\/pre>\n<p><i>Type user password (no asterisk feedback) when it asks and hit Enter to continue.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/pithos-focal-ppa.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/pithos-focal-ppa.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"155\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-32882\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/pithos-focal-ppa.png 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/pithos-focal-ppa-450x116.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>2. Install \/ Upgrade Liferea:<\/h4>\n<p>Since Ubuntu 20.04+ checks package updates automatically while adding PPA, you can now run command to install the feed reader:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install liferea<\/pre>\n<p>or launch &#8216;Software Updater&#8217; and upgrade the package from an old release.
