Try the cool DedSec GRUB theme.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a Grub boot-loader (defaults in most Linux) theme inspired by the fictional hacker group DedSec from Watch Dogs series video game. User may install it either by the installer script in the source or manually by configuring Grub.<\/p>\n<h4>Method 1: Install DedSec theme via the script:<\/h4>\n<p>Firstly, search for and open terminal from start menu (Ubuntu may just press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard). When it opens, run command to grab the source:<\/p>\n<pre>git clone --depth 1 https:\/\/github.com\/vandalsoul\/dedsec-grub2-theme.git<\/pre>\n<p><i>Install <code>git<\/code> if you don&#8217;t have it via <code>sudo apt install git<\/code>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>After the downloading process finished, go to the source folder:<\/p>\n<pre>cd dedsec-grub2-theme<\/pre>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grab-dedsec-source.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grab-dedsec-source-600x235.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"235\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-37717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grab-dedsec-source-600x235.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grab-dedsec-source-300x118.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/grab-dedsec-source.webp 752w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Finally, run the installer and select from the 18 theme-styles to install:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo python3 install.py<\/pre>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dedsec-selecttheme.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dedsec-selecttheme-600x420.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"420\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-37718\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dedsec-selecttheme-600x420.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dedsec-selecttheme-300x210.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dedsec-selecttheme-768x537.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/dedsec-selecttheme.webp 782w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If everything runs successfully, you&#8217;ll see the new boot-menu appearance in next boot!<\/p>\n<h4>Method 2: Manually Install DedSec theme:<\/h4>\n<p>The installer script seems to always install theme name as &#8216;<i>dedsec<\/i>&#8216;. While there are 18 theme styles, you can only get one of them installed at a time.<\/p>\n<p>To get them all, download the package from the link below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gnome-look.org\/p\/1569525\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download DedSec Grub theme (check Files tab)<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><b>Extract and put the sub-folder(s) (<i>which contains icons, background, and theme.txt file<\/i>) into &#8220;\/boot\/grub\/themes&#8221; folder.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p><i>Create &#8216;boot\/grub\/themes&#8217; folder via <code>sudo mkdir \/boot\/grub\/themes<\/code> if NOT exist.
