It has been such a long time since the last v0.9.9.<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Today we are releasing the first of several beta&#8217;s for the 0.10 release with the hope of releasing a final build sometime in the next couple of months.<br \/>\nThe 0.10 release will give us the opportunity to push out many improvements, but allow us to continue working on the new API we have planned for the 1.0 release.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/handbrake-010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/handbrake-010.jpg\" alt=\"Handbrake 0.10 beta in Ubuntu 14.04\" width=\"580\" height=\"364\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3822\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/handbrake-010.jpg 580w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/handbrake-010-300x188.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Changes in HandBrake 0.10:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Core:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Intel QuickSync Video Encode \/ Decode support.(Windows only currently)<\/li>\n<li>DXVA Hardware Decode support (Experimental and Windows only)<\/li>\n<li>Choice of Scalers: Lanczos, Bicubic (OpenCL) (Experimental)<\/li>\n<li>hqdn3d filter now accepts individual settings for both chroma channels (Cr, Cb)<\/li>\n<li>New\u00a0<a>NlMeans?<\/a>\u00a0denoiser. This is very slow, but results are significantly better than hqdn3d.<\/li>\n<li>Added Windows Phone 8 Preset<\/li>\n<li>Updated Libraries: x264\u00a0r2431-ac76440, Libav v10.1, libbluray 0.5.0<\/li>\n<li>Libavformat is now used for muxing instead of mp4v2 and libmkv<\/li>\n<li>The LibAV AAC encoder is now the default as FAAC has been removed.<\/li>\n<li>H.265 encoder (Experimental &#8211; available when compiled from source with &#8211;enable-x265)<\/li>\n<li>Added VP8 Encoder (using libvpx), available in MKV files only.<\/li>\n<li>Removed mcdeint deinterlace and decomb modes. This relied on the snow encoder in libav which has been was removed by upstream.<\/li>\n<li>Bug fixes and Misc Improvements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Linux:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Automatic audio and subtitle track selection behaviours which can be stored per preset.<\/li>\n<li>Improvements to Auto-Naming feature.<\/li>\n<li>Batch Add to queue by list selection.<\/li>\n<li>Russian and Czech Translations<\/li>\n<li>Bug fixes and Misc Improvements<\/li>\n<li>Requires GTK3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Install HandBrake 0.10 beta in Ubuntu 14.04:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The new release is available in the snapshots PPA for Ubuntu 14.04 and its derivatives. To install it, press <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> on keyboard to open the terminal.
