Edit the config file<\/h3>\n<p>Firstly, press <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> on keyboard to open terminal. When it opens, run command to edit the file which is located in &#8216;\/usr\/share\/gnome-shell\/extensions\/ding@rastersoft.com\/&#8217; directory:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo gedit \/usr\/share\/gnome-shell\/extensions\/ding@rastersoft.com\/enums.js<\/pre>\n<p><code>sudo<\/code> is required as it&#8217;s a system wide extension and you need to type user password to authenticate when running the command.<\/p>\n<p>When file opens, you&#8217;ll see the first line (except the comments) defines the icon sizes in pixels:<\/p>\n<p><b>var ICON_SIZE = { &#8216;tiny&#8217;: 36, &#8216;small&#8217;: 48, &#8216;standard&#8217;: 64, &#8216;large&#8217;: 96 };<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Just change the number <b>36<\/b>, <b>48<\/b>, <b>64<\/b> and <b>96<\/b> will replace the corresponding &#8216;tiny&#8217;, &#8216;small&#8217;, &#8216;normal&#8217;, and &#8216;large&#8217; icon sizes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/edit-deskiconsizes.webp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/edit-deskiconsizes-600x424.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"424\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-39334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/edit-deskiconsizes-600x424.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/edit-deskiconsizes-300x212.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/edit-deskiconsizes-768x543.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/edit-deskiconsizes.webp 918w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And, change the numbers in lines of &#8220;<b>ICON_WIDTH<\/b>&#8221; and &#8220;<b>ICON_HEIGHT<\/b>&#8221; will adjust how large the square area that each icon takes. It&#8217;s the orange area when you drag and drop an icon, which can be useful if you want to change the icon spacing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/desktop-icon-size.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"534\" height=\"295\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-39335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/desktop-icon-size.png 534w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/desktop-icon-size-300x166.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 534px) 100vw, 534px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE: The change will take place for all system users. For single user only, you may copy the extension folder to local directory &#8216;.local\/share\/gnome-extensions&#8217;. However, the option in &#8220;Appearance&#8221; won&#8217;t work for the local copy.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3>2.
