Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s new and how to install the application in Ubuntu.<\/p>\n<p>DeaDBeeF is one of my favorite music players, especially for its design mode. Glory to Ukraine! In this release you&#8217;ll see two little hearts (in blue and yellow) in the title bar of app window.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/deadbeef19.webp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/deadbeef19-600x364.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"364\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-39815\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/deadbeef19-600x364.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/deadbeef19-300x182.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/deadbeef19-768x466.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/deadbeef19.webp 984w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 1.9.0 release added some new features including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Long file seeking support for Opus and FFMPEG<\/li>\n<li>HTTPS support for vfs_curl in portable builds, via libmbedtls<\/li>\n<li>Design mode for CocoaUI<\/li>\n<li>New Scope and Spectrum Analyzer visualizations<\/li>\n<li>Visualization appearance preferences pane<\/li>\n<li>New album art loader<\/li>\n<li>Title formatting $year(time) function<\/li>\n<li>GTK UI for editing a chosen field of multiple selected tracks, in a table interface<\/li>\n<li>Creating new playlist via clicking the \u201c+\u201d button in the playlist tab strip<\/li>\n<li>Improved DSP preferences GTK UI<\/li>\n<li>Improved handling of invalid MP3 files<\/li>\n<li>Last.fm scrobbler will use HTTPS by default<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, you can now easily get the menu to set <b>dB scale<\/b>, <b>Linear scale<\/b>, or <b>Cubic scale<\/b> by simply right-clicking on volume slider. For Debian, Ubuntu, Linux Mint based systems, simply download the &#8220;<i>deadbeef-static_1.9.0-1_amd64.deb<\/i>&#8221; from the link page below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/deadbeef\/files\/travis\/linux\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download DeaDBeeF for Linux<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>After downloaded the package, open your Downloads folder, right-click blank area and select &#8220;Open in Terminal&#8221;. However, the package version there at the moment of writing is still the last v1.8.8. And, it&#8217;s better to remove &#8220;deadbeef-static&#8221; first before installing the music player from this PPA.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Remove DeaDBeeF:<\/h3>\n<p>The package is installed as <code>deadbeef-static<\/code>. To remove it, open terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard. Then run command:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt remove --autoremove deadbeef-static<\/pre>\n<p>That&#8217;s all.
