Just open an image, then click on the &#8220;<b>Options -> OCR<\/b>&#8221; menu option to use it. Though, it seems to be in very early stage, which is not working in my case.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-ocr-600x476.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"476\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-40166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-ocr-600x476.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-ocr-300x238.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-ocr.webp 704w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Other changes in KSnip 1.10.0 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add FTP uploading support.<\/li>\n<li>Add debug logging.<\/li>\n<li>New Save all option.<\/li>\n<li>Search in preference.<\/li>\n<li>Add support for RGBA colors with transparency.<\/li>\n<li>Editing feature improvements.<\/li>\n<li>And various bug-fixes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Install KSnip 1.10<\/h3>\n<h4>Option 1: Snap package<\/h4>\n<p>The easiest way to install the tool in Ubuntu is using the official Snap packages. It refers to the Snap package, rather than installing the local package.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<h4>Option 3: Ubuntu PPA (unofficial)<\/h4>\n<p>For those prefer Ubuntu PPA, here&#8217;s an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/ksnip\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unofficial repository<\/a> with Ubuntu 20.04 and Ubuntu 22.04 support. <\/p>\n<p>Simply press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open terminal, and run the commands below one by one will add the PPA and install the screenshot tool from it.<\/p>\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/ksnip<\/pre>\n<pre>sudo apt update<\/pre>\n<pre>sudo apt install ksnip libkimageannotator0 libkcolorpicker0<\/pre>\n<h4>Install the OCR plugin:<\/h4>\n<p>The OCR plugin is available to install as a separate package.
