To enable it, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install libfuse2<\/pre>\n<h4>Option 2: Ubuntu PPA<\/h4>\n<p>For those prefer the native <code>.deb<\/code> package format, the Avidemux website refers to this <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~xtradeb\/+archive\/ubuntu\/apps\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">unofficial PPA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>1. First, press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open a terminal window. When it opens, run command to add the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xtradeb\/apps<\/pre>\n<p><i>Type user password when it asks (no asterisk feedback) and hit Enter to continue.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/avidemux-ppa-jammy.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/avidemux-ppa-jammy-600x191.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"191\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-43176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/avidemux-ppa-jammy-600x191.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/avidemux-ppa-jammy-300x96.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/avidemux-ppa-jammy.webp 759w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The PPA however offers the latest packages for only Ubuntu 22.04. For Ubuntu 20.04 and old Ubuntu 18.04, you may use this one instead:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/avidemux<\/pre>\n<p>2. After adding the PPA, run the command below to update package cache for old Ubuntu or Linux Mint:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt update<\/pre>\n<p>3.
