It&#8217;s a small release with a new feature: <b>KDE support for scale factor<\/b>. Meaning it&#8217;s now working better in KDE desktop (such as KUbuntu, Ubuntu Studio) with different scaling factor.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fix drag and drop issue for Ksnip installed as Snap.<\/li>\n<li>Fix sticker resizing issue when bounding rect flipped.<\/li>\n<li>Show tab tooltips on initial tabs.<\/li>\n<li>Fix for unnecessary scrollbars when a screenshot has a smaller size than the previous one<\/li>\n<li>Fix that loading image from stdin single instance client runner side doesn&#8217;t work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Install KSnip 1.10.1 in Ubuntu \/ Linux Mint<\/h3>\n<h4>Option 1: Snap package<\/h4>\n<p>The easiest way to install the tool in Ubuntu is using the official Snap packages. Simply open Ubuntu Software, then you can search for and install it via few clicks.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_40167\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40167\" class=\"size-large wp-image-40167\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-softwarecenter-600x344.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-softwarecenter-600x344.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-softwarecenter-300x172.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-softwarecenter-768x441.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/ksnip-softwarecenter.webp 1065w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-40167\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Install Ksnip via Ubuntu Software<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>Option 2: AppImage \/ Deb<\/h4>\n<p>The software project page also provides AppImage and Deb packages, as well as Windows and Mac OS packages for download under &#8216;Assets&#8217; section:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ksnip\/ksnip\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download Ksnip<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For most Linux, you may download the non-install <b>AppImage<\/b> package, make it executable via right-click menu &#8220;Properties&#8221; dialog -&gt; &#8220;Permissions&#8221; tab, and finally click run the package to launch it.<\/p>\n<p>For Debian and Ubuntu based system, download the <b>.deb<\/b> package and install it by running command in terminal (<i>press Ctrl+Alt+T to open terminal<\/i>):<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install ~\/Downloads\/ksnip-*.deb<\/pre>\n<p><i><b>NOTE for Ubuntu 22.04, double-click installing this local deb via &#8220;Software Install&#8221; option may not work properly. It refers to the Snap package, rather than installing the local package.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<h4>Option 3: Ubuntu PPA (unofficial)<\/h4>\n<p>For those prefer Ubuntu PPA, here&#8217;s an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/ksnip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unofficial repository<\/a> with Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 22.10 and Ubuntu 23.04 support.<\/p>\n<p>Simply press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open terminal, and run the commands below one by one will add the PPA and install the screenshot tool from it.<\/p>\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/ksnip<\/pre>\n<pre>sudo apt update<\/pre>\n<pre>sudo apt install ksnip libkimageannotator0 libkcolorpicker0<\/pre>\n<h4>Install the OCR plugin:<\/h4>\n<p>The OCR plugin is available to install as a separate package.
