Here are the new features and how to install guide for Ubuntu users.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/phase1geo\/Annotator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Annotator<\/a> is a free open-source image annotation tool designed for Elementary OS, but also works in other Linux. Elementary OS can directly search for and install it from app store.<\/p>\n<p>For Ubuntu, use this <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/annotator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ubuntu PPA<\/a> that works on both X86 PC\/laptop and arm64\/armhf mobile devices. The PPA so far contains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Annotator 2.0 for Ubuntu 24.04 and Ubuntu 24.10.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Annotator 1.2.0 for Ubuntu 20.04 and Ubuntu 22.04<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>1. Add the PPA<\/h4>\n<p>Press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open terminal. Update package cache<\/h4>\n<p>Ubuntu 20.04 and higher refresh system package cache automatically while adding PPA, but some Ubuntu based systems may not. To do it manually, run command:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt update<\/pre>\n<h4>3.
