Try this one!<\/p>\n<p>GNOME, the default desktop environment of Ubuntu and Fedora Workstation, lacks good screen recorder after switching to Wayland.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flathub.org\/apps\/io.github.seadve.Kooha\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kooha<\/a> is a good choice that support recording voice and multiple monitors, which works in both Xorg and Wayland.<\/p>\n<p>In this tutorial I&#8217;m going to introduce <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/EasyScreenCast\/EasyScreenCast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EasyScreenCast<\/a>. It&#8217;s a free and open-source application for GNOME desktop only.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>EasyScreenCast simplifies the use of the video recording function integrated in gnome shell, allows quickly to change the various settings of the desktop recording.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><b>It starts as an indicator applet in the top-right system tray area,<\/b> by clicking on it will show you the menu to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Start \/ Stop recording.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Choose audio source.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Enable webcam recording at the same time.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Select recording area<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Set time delay<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/easyscreencast-indicator.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44141\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/easyscreencast-indicator.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"370\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/easyscreencast-indicator.webp 370w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/easyscreencast-indicator-253x300.webp 253w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As you can see in the screenshot above, it supports recording full-screen (all desktop), a selected app window.<\/p>\n<p><b>To record a selected area, just click down and drag to create an rectangle area on screen after clicked &#8216;Start Recording&#8217;<\/b><b>. It has option to\u00a0 show a border around the area while recording, though NOT enabled by default.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>For multiple monitors, choose &#8220;Record a selected monitor&#8221; option. So far, it support GNOME version from 38 to 46.<\/p>\n<p>Meaning, you can install it in <b>Ubuntu 22.04<\/b>, <b>Ubuntu 24.04<\/b>, current <b>Fedora 38+<\/b>, RHEL\/Rocky Linux\/Alma Linux 9, and Debian 12, Arch, etc with GNOME.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> First, it requires few gstreamer plugins packages for webcam and encoding support.
