Just <i>right-click<\/i> on .AppImage file and go to &#8216;Properties&#8217;, then enable &#8220;Allow executing as program&#8221; option under Permissions tab. All current Ubuntu releases can easily install qBittorrent as Flatpak, by running 2 commands below one by one.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First, press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open terminal. When terminal opens, run command to ensure Flatpak support:\n<pre>sudo apt install flatpak<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Then, install the torrent client as Flatpak by running command:\n<pre>flatpak install https:\/\/dl.flathub.org\/repo\/appstream\/org.qbittorrent.qBittorrent.flatpakref<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/flatpak-qbittorrent.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44585\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/flatpak-qbittorrent-600x406.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"406\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/flatpak-qbittorrent-600x406.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/flatpak-qbittorrent-300x203.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/flatpak-qbittorrent-768x520.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/flatpak-qbittorrent.webp 921w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Option 3: Ubuntu PPA<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>UPDATE: Due to requirement of Qt &gt; 6.5.0, the PPA will NOT update for Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 22.04 and earlier.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>For those who prefer the native <code>.deb<\/code> package format, qBittorrent has an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~qbittorrent-team\/+archive\/ubuntu\/qbittorrent-stable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official Ubuntu PPA<\/a>. Though, it&#8217;s NOT updated at the moment of writing (<i>check the previous link<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p>To add the PPA, and install the app package, press <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> on keyboard to open terminal. And, run commands below one by one:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add the PPA:\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:qbittorrent-team\/qbittorrent-stable<\/pre>\n<p><i>Type user password (no asterisk feedback) when it asks and hit Enter to continue.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-43388\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/qbittorrent-ppa-600x224.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/qbittorrent-ppa-600x224.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/qbittorrent-ppa-300x112.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/qbittorrent-ppa-768x286.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/qbittorrent-ppa.webp 770w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Then, manually refresh system package cache (required for Linux Mint 21):\n<pre>sudo apt update<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Finally, install the torrent app via command:\n<pre>sudo apt install qbittorrent<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Uninstall qBittorrent<\/h3>\n<p>Depends on how you installed the software package, uninstall it by running either command below in terminal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To remove the Flatpak package, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:\n<pre>flatpak uninstall --delete-data org.qbittorrent.qBittorrent<\/pre>\n<p>Also run <code>flatpak uninstall --delete-unused<\/code> to remove useless run-time libraries.<\/li>\n<li>To remove the PPA package, use command:\n<pre>sudo apt remove --autoremove qbittorrent<\/pre>\n<p>Also remove the Ubuntu PPA, either by removing source line through &#8220;<i>Software &amp; Updates<\/i>&#8221; utility under <i>Other Software<\/i> tab.
