Here are the new features and how to install guide for Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 23.04\/23.10, and Linux Mint 21.<\/p>\n<p>OBS-Studio 30.0 is a big release with many new features. They include <b>WHIP\/WebRTC output<\/b>, support for <b>Intel QSV H264, HEVC, AV1<\/b> on Linux, &#8220;<b>Safe Mode<\/b>&#8221; that runs without scripting, and websockets, <b>10-bit capture and HDR playback support for Decklink<\/b> devices.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Redesigned the status bar<\/li>\n<li>Full-Height docks option in the &#8220;Docks&#8221; menu<\/li>\n<li>Add shader cache to improve startup time on Windows<\/li>\n<li>Add application audio capture on macOS<\/li>\n<li>Rework the virtual camera on macOS<\/li>\n<li>Add YouTube Live Control Room Panel when streaming to YouTube<\/li>\n<li>Option to hide OBS windows from macOS Screen Capture&#8217;s &#8220;Display Capture&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Arrange filters via drag &amp; drop<\/li>\n<li>Ability to set FFmpeg Options for VAAPI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, there are tons of other changes and bug-fixes, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/obsproject\/obs-studio\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">release page<\/a> for details.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/obs-300.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-44700\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/obs-300-600x362.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"362\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/obs-300-600x362.webp 600w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/obs-300-300x181.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/obs-300-768x463.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/obs-300.webp 1255w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How to Install OBS Studio 30.0 in Ubuntu<\/h3>\n<p>The release page (see the link above) provides Windows <code>.exe<\/code>, Mac OS <code>.dmg<\/code>, and Ubuntu <code>.deb<\/code> packages for downloading under &#8216;Assets&#8217; section.<\/p>\n<p>For Ubuntu and Linux Mint, there&#8217;s also an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~obsproject\/+archive\/ubuntu\/obs-studio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official PPA<\/a> available to make it easy to keep the software up-to-date.<\/p>\n<p>The PPA supports the new release for Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 23.04, Ubuntu 23.10, and their based systems. While, Ubuntu 20.04 does not longer supported due to FFmpeg version mis-match.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Firstly, press <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> on keyboard to open a terminal window.
