Linus Torvalds <a href=\"https:\/\/lore.kernel.org\/lkml\/CAHk-=widprp4XoHUcsDe7e16YZjLYJWra-dK0hE1MnfPMf6C3Q@mail.gmail.com\/T\/#u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> the release on Sunday night:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>So we had a little bit more going on last week compared to the holiday week before that, but certainly not enough to make me think we&#8217;d want<br \/>\nto delay this any further.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>End result: 6.7 is (in number of commits: over 17k non-merge commits, with 1k+ merges) one of the largest kernel releases we&#8217;ve ever had, but the extra rc8 week was purely due to timing with the holidays, not about any difficulties with the larger release.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The new Kernel release has many new and improved hardware support!<\/p>\n<p>For Intel, the Turbostat command utility now supports Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake (15th gen) processors; LPSS (Low-Power Sub-System) driver now support Lunar Lake M processors; The Meteor Lake (14th gen mobile processors) graphics support now considered stable.<\/p>\n<p>All the newest AMD Radeon RDNA2 and RDNA3 GPUs with Display Core Next 3.0 has Seamless Boot enabled.<\/p>\n<p>And, NVIDIA has GSP support in the open-source Nouveau driver for initial GeForce RTX 40 acceleration support and improved RTX 20\/30 series hardware support.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The release also improved RISC-V support with optimized TLB flushing and software shadow call stacks, added new Arm and RISC-V SoC support, and initial KVM support for LoongArch virtualization.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><code>ia32_emulation<\/code> boot time flag (value 0 or 1) to disable\/enable legacy 32-bit programs support.<\/li>\n<li>Sensor support for ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X670E GENE and ASRock X670E Taichi.<\/li>\n<li>DisplayPort Alternate Mode 2.1 support for USB\/Thunderbolt.<\/li>\n<li>Fix for Dell Pro Wireless Keyboard and Mouse KM5221W.<\/li>\n<li>Suspend\/resume issue fix for Lenovo USB ThinkPad Compact keyboards.<\/li>\n<li>ASUS Screenpad support.<\/li>\n<li>Cooler Boost support for MSI laptops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Get Linux Kernel 6.7<\/h3>\n<p>For the source code, simply go to Kernel.org via the link button below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/kernel.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Linux Kernel Website<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For <b>Ubuntu 23.10<\/b> and <b>Ubuntu 24.04<\/b> (dev build), user can simply download &amp; install the <code>.deb<\/code> packages from Kernel Mainline PPA:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/kernel.ubuntu.com\/mainline\/v6.7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ubuntu Kernel Mainline (v6.7)<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Depends on your CPU architecture type, select download <code>amd64<\/code> packages for modern Intel\/AMD, <code>arm64\/armhf<\/code> for ARM devices such as Apple Silicon &amp; Raspberry Pi, or <code>s390x<\/code> for IBM zsystems and LinuxONE.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-kernel67.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-45132\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-kernel67-700x509.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"444\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-kernel67-700x509.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-kernel67-300x218.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-kernel67-768x558.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/download-kernel67.webp 1018w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then, right-click on the downloads folder, and select &#8220;Open in Terminal&#8221;.
