It is written by Johan Mattsson using Vala programming language, works on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.<\/p>\n<p>The 2.0 release brings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New UI layout<\/li>\n<li>New zoom tool<\/li>\n<li>Improved background import<\/li>\n<li>Customizable short cuts<\/li>\n<li>New tab for changing font name<\/li>\n<li>Illustrator SVG import and other bug fixes<\/li>\n<li>Load bf fonts faster<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/birdfont-2.0-ubuntu.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/birdfont-2.0-ubuntu-1024x587.jpg\" alt=\"BirdFont 2.0 in Ubuntu\" width=\"610\" height=\"349\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4581\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/birdfont-2.0-ubuntu-1024x587.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/birdfont-2.0-ubuntu-300x172.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/birdfont-2.0-ubuntu.jpg 1219w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>How to Install\/Upgrade birdfont in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>The binary packages have been made into my personal PPA (unofficial), available for Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10 and Ubuntu 15.04.<\/p>\n<p>Open terminal from the Dash or by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T. When it opens, run command below to add the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/birdfont<\/pre>\n<p>After that, update system package cache and install the editor by running below two commands one by one:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\n\nsudo apt-get install birdfont<\/pre>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t want to add PPA, download &#038; install the <b>.deb<\/b> package directly from <a href=\"http:\/\/ppa.launchpad.net\/ubuntuhandbook1\/birdfont\/ubuntu\/pool\/main\/b\/birdfont\/\" target=\"_blank\">launchpad page<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>New to Birdfont?
