The release features upstream <b>FFmpeg 6.0<\/b>, adds support for <b>NFSv4<\/b>, support <b>M3U8<\/b> playlist files, <b>AVIF<\/b> images, <b>HDR10 for Android<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The developer team asks users to try out the new development release and report issues to help to make it better. And, in the current RC1 release, changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Allow users to set a subtitle save path<\/li>\n<li>Fix that audiobooks showing their last chapter with no duration.<\/li>\n<li>For Linux, allow Pipewire to properly identify HDMI for passthrough usage.<\/li>\n<li>Implement <code>Hotkeycontroller<\/code> for media keys on macOS<\/li>\n<li>Some color accuracy changes for 10bit SDR\/HDR color mapping on Windows.<\/li>\n<li>Allows subtitles to be tonemapped to avoid extreme brightness for HDR playback on Android.<\/li>\n<li>Fix for icons not being correctly refreshed<\/li>\n<li>See <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/xbmc\/xbmc\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">github releases<\/a> page for more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Get Kodi 21 RC1<\/h3>\n<p>Kodi provides official packages available to download at its website via the link below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/kodi.tv\/download\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download Kodi<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the page, just select your system (platform), then switch to &#8220;Pre-release&#8221; page for Kodi 21 RC1.<\/p>\n<p><b>For Linux<\/b>, there&#8217;s sadly NO binary package for the new RC release so far.
