Existing Image Slideshow sources will continue functioning as before. To change them to the new version, you have to re-create them.<\/p>\n<p>The release also added AV1 support for VA-API video hardware acceleration, and AV1 support for WebRTC\/WHIP output.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/obsstudio301.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-45812\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/obsstudio301-700x426.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"371\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/obsstudio301-700x426.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/obsstudio301-300x183.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/obsstudio301-768x467.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/obsstudio301.webp 1155w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Other changes in <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/obsproject\/obs-studio\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OBS Studio 30.1<\/a> include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support Video Capture Device (PipeWire) source type<\/li>\n<li>HDR support for the Elgato HD60 X Rev.2<\/li>\n<li>Option for automatic cropping to bounding box<\/li>\n<li>maxRGB tonemapper for SDR in HDR Tone Mapping filter<\/li>\n<li>GPU rescaling options for streaming and recording outputs<\/li>\n<li>channel selection for CoreAudio input devices.<\/li>\n<li>Capture Audio option to window\/game capture, and Premultiplied Alpha option for game capture for Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Install OBS Studio 30.1<\/h3>\n<p>The screencasting and streaming app provides official <code>.exe<\/code>, <code>.dmg<\/code>, and <code>.deb<\/code> packages for Windows, MacOS, and Ubuntu, available to download at the link below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/obsproject\/obs-studio\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Download OBS Studio (under &#8216;Assets&#8217;)<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For Ubuntu, there&#8217;s also an <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~obsproject\/+archive\/ubuntu\/obs-studio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">official PPA<\/a>, so far supports for Ubuntu 22.04, and Ubuntu 23.10 on AMD\/Intel platform.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> First, press <b>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/b> on keyboard to open up a terminal window. and use it to purge the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install ppa-purge &amp;&amp; sudo ppa-purge ppa:obsproject\/obs-studio<\/pre>\n<p>Or, either open <b>Software &amp; Updates<\/b> and remove the PPA source line under &#8216;Other Software&#8217;
