It has been more than one year since the previous version was released in September 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/choqok.gnufolks.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Choqok<\/a> features Twitter, Pump.io (Formerly known as Identi.ca), and OpenDesktop.org services support and KWallet integration. The 1.5 release brings below changes<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There\u2019s a new option to disable the system tray.<\/li>\n<li>As mentioned above, we now have a plugin for\u00a0<strong>Pump.io<\/strong>\u00a0microblogs.<\/li>\n<li>We have a new plugin for expansion of short URLs, and dropped old\u00a0<strong>UnTiny plugin<\/strong>. **<\/li>\n<li>A preview for photos posted to\u00a0<strong>Twitter.com<\/strong>\u00a0is now available.<\/li>\n<li>Issues in updating friends list of\u00a0<strong>Twitter<\/strong>\u00a0is fixed and sending direct message is working again.<\/li>\n<li>There\u2019s a new option in User menu for Reporting a User to\u00a0<strong>Twitter<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>A long wanted request on\u00a0<strong>StatusNet(Gnu social) plugin<\/strong>\u00a0was ability to take into account the server\u2019s custom set, char limit. now we have it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>IMStatus plugin<\/strong>\u00a0now supports KDE Telepathy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Yourls<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Goo.gl<\/strong>\u00a0shortening plugins are fixed and now they are working again.<\/li>\n<li>Broken shortening plugins are dropped.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/choqok-twitter-client.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/choqok-twitter-client-164x300.jpg\" alt=\"Choqok in Ubuntu\" width=\"164\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4585\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/choqok-twitter-client-164x300.jpg 164w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/choqok-twitter-client.jpg 381w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 164px) 100vw, 164px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>How to Install \/ Upgrade Choqok in Ubuntu:<\/h4>\n<p>The latest binaries have been made into <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~adilson\/+archive\/ubuntu\/experimental\/\" target=\"_blank\">Adilson&#8217;s PPA<\/a>, available for Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17 (fail to build for Ubunt 12.04 at the moment). <\/p>\n<p><i>Note: as a KDE app, installing Choqok also installs numerous Kubuntu libraries.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>To add the PPA, open terminal from menu and run command:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:adilson\/experimental<\/pre>\n<p>Then update package cache and install or upgrade the app by running below two commands one by one:<\/p>\n<pre style=\"border:none;\">sudo apt-get update\n\nsudo apt-get install choqok<\/pre>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Choqok, a free and open-source micro-blogging client for KDE, has reached the 1.5 release recently.
