They include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Snap package<\/b>, which can be installed from App Center (Ubuntu Software). Though, it runs in sandbox environment, and not been updated to v5.2.3 at the moment of writing.<a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/krita-snapstore.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-46836\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/krita-snapstore-700x439.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"383\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/krita-snapstore-700x439.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/krita-snapstore-300x188.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/krita-snapstore-768x482.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/krita-snapstore.webp 1039w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/flathub.org\/apps\/org.kde.krita\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Flatpak package<\/b><\/a>, which also runs in sandbox environment, and easy to install in most other Linux. Ubuntu users can install the package by running the 2 commands below one by one in terminal.\n<pre>sudo apt install flatpak<\/pre>\n<pre>flatpak install https:\/\/dl.flathub.org\/repo\/appstream\/org.kde.krita.flatpakref<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Deb package<\/b>. For those who don&#8217;t like running the app in sandbox, I&#8217;ve uploaded the package into this <a href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~ubuntuhandbook1\/+archive\/ubuntu\/krita\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unofficial PPA<\/a> (pending publish, try few hours later). User can run the 3 commands below one by one to get the package:\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/krita<\/pre>\n<pre>sudo apt update<\/pre>\n<pre>sudo apt install krita<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Uninstall Krita<\/h3>\n<p>To uninstall the Snap package, use either Ubuntu Software or App Center.<\/p>\n<p>To uninstall the Deb package, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt remove --autoremove krita krita-data<\/pre>\n<p>And, run command to remove the PPA:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:ubuntuhandbook1\/krita<\/pre>\n<p>For the Flatpak package, uninstall it via command:<\/p>\n<pre>flatpak uninstall --delete-data org.kde.krita<\/pre>\n<p>Also run <code>flatpak uninstall --unused<\/code> to clear useless runtime libraries.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The popular free open-source digital painting software, Krita, released version 5.2.3 a few days ago.
