Try Mission Center!<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a free open-source application written in Rust programming language, and uses <b>GTK4<\/b> + <b>LibAdwaita<\/b> for its modern user interface that&#8217;s well integrated into Ubuntu, Fedora Workstation, and other Linux with GNOME Desktop.<\/p>\n<p>With it, you have a <b>Windows Task Manager look like interface<\/b> that can monitor your CPU, Memory, Disk, Network and GPU usage with graphs.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_46931\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mission-center.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-46931\" class=\"size-large wp-image-46931\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mission-center-700x485.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mission-center-700x485.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mission-center-300x208.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mission-center-768x533.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/mission-center.webp 1109w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-46931\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mission Center<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As you can see in the screenshot above, the app has a left side-bar that displays the basic system resource usage with small graphs with brief description texts.<\/p>\n<p>In right, the <b>Performance<\/b> tab shows more detailed information about system resource usage, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><b>CPU utilization<\/b> (overall &amp; per-core), real-time speed, processes, threads, handles, and basic CPU info, such as its name, base speed, L1\/L2\/L3 cache size, and driver.<\/li>\n<li><b>Memory usage<\/b> &#8211; how much in use, cached, swap in use, and basic memory info, such as speed, type (e.g., DDR4, DDR5), and how many slots in use.<\/li>\n<li><b>GPU<\/b> (experimental) with video encoder \/ decoder usage, memory usage and power consumption, with the power of NVTOP.<\/li>\n<li><b>Disk utilization<\/b>, real-time read, write speed, capacity, and type (NVMe or HHD).<\/li>\n<li>Network utilization, upload\/download speed, ip4\/ip6, and Mac address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <b>Apps<\/b> tab lists all the running apps and background processes, with their PID, and how much CPU, RAM, Disk, GPU each process consume.<\/p>\n<p>By right-clicking on an app or process in the list, it shows the options to stop (send close signal) or force stop (kill) the app or process.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/misson-center-apps.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-46940\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/misson-center-apps-700x576.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"502\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/misson-center-apps-700x576.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/misson-center-apps-300x247.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/misson-center-apps-768x632.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/misson-center-apps.webp 1022w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <b>Services<\/b> tab, shows all the process in your system, either in active running or not. Each has <code>Start<\/code>, <code>Stop<\/code>, <code>Restart<\/code> buttons, as well as <code>Details<\/code> with few more information.<\/p>\n<p>The feature is available since version 0.5.0, however not complete. Though, it&#8217;s still in active development to overcome them and add new features.<\/p>\n<h3>Install Mission Center<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/mission-center-devs\/mission-center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mission Center<\/a> is available to install as Flatpak package, that can be installed in most Linux, through runs in sandbox environment.<\/p>\n<p>Linux Mint (since 21.x) and Fedora Workstation (38+ with 3rd-party repository enabled) can directly search for and install the app from either Software Manager or GNOME Software. While other Linux can follow the steps below to install it.<\/p>\n<h4>1. Enable Flatpak Support<\/h4>\n<p>For Ubuntu, Debian, and their based systems, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command to enable Flatpak package support:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install flatpak<\/pre>\n<p>While other Linux can follow this <a href=\"https:\/\/flatpak.org\/setup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">setup guide<\/a> to get it supported.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/apt-flatpak-noble.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-45732\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/apt-flatpak-noble-700x501.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/apt-flatpak-noble-700x501.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/apt-flatpak-noble-300x215.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/apt-flatpak-noble-768x550.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/apt-flatpak-noble.webp 786w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>2. Update the package<\/h4>\n<p>Your system software manager may not support updating Flatpak app packages.
