Here&#8217;s a new extension to customize it from GNOME lock screen itself!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve written about how to <a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/index.php\/2020\/05\/lock-screen-background-ubuntu-20-04\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">change lock screen background<\/a> in Ubuntu with default GNOME desktop. Here&#8217;s now a new choice to do the job when you&#8217;re at the lock screen.<\/p>\n<p>Meaning you don&#8217;t need to configure then lock (to see the change) and un-lock again and again. Navigate to <code>Browse<\/code> tab, and finally search &amp; install &#8220;Lockscreen Extension&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/lockscreen-em.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-47561\" href=\"https:\/\/extensions.gnome.org\/extension\/7472\/lockscreen-extension\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lockscreen Extension<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Then, use the ON\/OFF switch to install.<\/p>\n<p>Note that if the toggle switch is not available, you may need to install browser extension (via the link in that page) and refresh.<\/p>\n<p>And, Debian\/Ubuntu users need to first install the agent package by running the command below in terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T):<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install chrome-gnome-shell<\/pre>\n<p><a mentioned, the menu provides a button in the bottom, allowing to hide that menu after custimized lock-screen.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to re-enable (un-hide) it, then, install <b>dconf-editor<\/b> app from your system package manager.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/install-dconfeditor-appcenter.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" navigate to <code>\/org\/gnome\/shell\/extensions\/lockscreen-extension\/<\/code>.
