For those who are interested in the next Ubuntu 25.10 release, the first snapshot of the development version is available to download for testing on desktop, server, WSL.<\/p>\n

Ubuntu introduced new monthly snapshot releases policy few days ago. And, the first snapshot for Ubuntu 25.10 is out available to download for all supported platforms.<\/p>\n

As you know, Ubuntu keeps updating with new stable releases every 6 months, and the April releases in even-numbered years (e.g., 22.04, 24.04, and next 26.04) are usually Long Term Support (LTS) releases with 5 + 5 years support.<\/p>\n

Due to popularity of rolling-release distributions (e.g., Arch Linux) and image-based immutable distributions (e.g., Universal Blue), Ubuntu introduced new monthly releases<\/a> for the development Ubuntu editions.<\/p>\n

Starting in May 2025, we\u2019re introducing monthly snapshot releases for Ubuntu.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
