Here&#8217;s how to fix the issue.<\/p>\n<p>As you know, Ubuntu switched to App Center since 23.10. For 22.04, it&#8217;s <code>latest\/stable\/ubuntu-22.04<\/code>, and for Ubuntu 24.04 it&#8217;s <code>latest\/stable\/ubuntu-24.04<\/code>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Since Ubuntu 24.10, <a href=\"https:\/\/discourse.ubuntu.com\/t\/ubuntu-desktop-s-24-10-dev-cycle-part-4-august-update\/47217\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the rule has changed<\/a><\/b>. It uses <code>1\/stable<\/code> for old Ubuntu Software, and <code>2\/stable<\/code> channel for App Center.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>when users install the snap-store snap, they receive the old Ubuntu Software when installing <code>latest\/stable<\/code> and the new Flutter based App Center is only available on <code>latest\/stable\/ubuntu-23.10<\/code> and newer release branches.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>To resolve this issue we are creating new tracks for the App Center so that Ubuntu Software will track <code>1\/stable<\/code> and the App Center will track <code>2\/stable<\/code>. Instead it shows me Ubuntu Software<\/p><\/div>\n<p><b>The correct way to fix the issue is wait! Wait until Ubuntu team found the mistake and updated the channel with App Center back for 24.04.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Though, you may try to manually refresh\u00a0the package by running command:<\/p>\n<pre>snap refresh snap-store<\/pre>\n<h3>Switch to 2\/stable to get back App Center<\/h3>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t wait, then the <b>one-time solution is switch to the <code>2\/stable<\/code> channel<\/b> mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>To do so, press <code>Ctrl+Alt+T<\/code> on keyboard to open terminal. When it opens, run the single command below:<\/p>\n<pre>snap refresh snap-store --channel=2\/stable\/ubuntu-24.04<\/pre>\n<p>If the command failed and showed you <i>&#8220;snap-store&#8221; has running apps<\/i>, then kill the app according to the PID number in terminal output:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo kill -9 PID_NUMBER_HERE<\/pre>\n<p>Then, re-run the last command to switch snap-store app channel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/switch-2stable.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-49201\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/switch-2stable-700x335.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"292\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/switch-2stable-700x335.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/switch-2stable-300x144.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/switch-2stable.webp 762w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When done, trigger Gnome Overview, search &amp; open App Center and enjoy!<\/p>\n<h3>How to Restore<\/h3>\n<p>To revert back the previous snap-store channel, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:<\/p>\n<pre>snap refresh snap-store --channel=latest\/stable\/ubuntu-24.04<\/pre>\n<p>Also, kill the running app first if any in background.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>App Center disappeared, instead it shows you the old Ubuntu Software in your Ubuntu 24.04?
