It allows user to choose the color for check-boxes, toggle buttons, sliders, input boxes, and other components.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s available in System Settings -&gt; Themes, and works Cinnamon, MATE, and XFCE desktop environments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/mint-accentcolor.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-49474\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/mint-accentcolor-700x532.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/mint-accentcolor-700x532.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/mint-accentcolor-300x228.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/mint-accentcolor-768x583.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/mint-accentcolor.webp 977w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Besides that, the release introduced new <b>Fingwit<\/b> app, allowing to record and manage your fingerprints, if a supported fingerprint reader detected, and configure to use fingerprint authentication for login screen, sudo command, and admin apps.<\/p>\n<p>It however does not work in my ThinkPad, as it depends on system default <code>fprintd<\/code> daemon that does not support my device.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fingwit.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-49475\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fingwit-700x463.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"403\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fingwit-700x463.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fingwit-300x198.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fingwit-768x508.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fingwit-1320x873.webp 1320w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/fingwit.webp 1488w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The release also improved the <b>Sticky Notes<\/b> app with rounded corners and new d-bus method to reload the notes. It patched libadwaita with theming support and updated the default Mint-Y, Mint-X and Mint-L themes with Libadwaita support. And, a new <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/xapp-project\/libadapta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">libAdapta<\/a> project has been working as a fork of libadwaita with theming support and extra features.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes in Linux Mint 22.2 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add blur effect to the panel and the dialog box in Login screen.<\/li>\n<li>Display user avatars in login screen.<\/li>\n<li>Xviewer now supports configuring EDID-based color correction.<\/li>\n<li>Thumbnail support for <code>.aiff<\/code> audio files.<\/li>\n<li>Add iOS support for Warpinator file sharing tool.<\/li>\n<li>Support editing description field in WebApp Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use leading zeros in batch file renaming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Get Linux Mint 22.2<\/h3>\n<p>The official announcement as well as the download link for the Beta are available at the link below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.linuxmint.com\/?p=4876\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Linux Mint 22.2 Beta<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>For current Linux Mint 22\/22.1, there&#8217;s no instruction to upgrade to 22.2 Beta.
