After drawing a path (via Paths tool), user can now click &#8220;Create New Vector Layer&#8221; button to generate a vector layer associated with that path, then set the fill and stroke colors and other properties.<\/p>\n<p>You can continue to edit the path, as the vector layer will automatically update. They include the long requested <i>arrow brush<\/i> and <i>Posterizer<\/i> brush.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-49611\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/mypaint-brushes2.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"427\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/mypaint-brushes2.webp 427w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/mypaint-brushes2-253x300.webp 253w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 427px) 100vw, 427px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For Ubuntu users, GIMP is going to <b>make official SNAP package<\/b>, which can be installed directly from Ubuntu Software or App Center, and also be installed in other Linux.<\/p>\n<p>The current <a href=\"https:\/\/snapcraft.io\/gimp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GIMP Snap package<\/a> is maintained by the snapcrafters developers.
