It completely remade the worlds, redesigned the character, introduced new assets for the Tux, enemies, and backgrounds, and revived Android support.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>First of all, the new version completely <b>overhauled the world I<\/b> (aka Icy Island) and <b>world II<\/b> (aka Rooted Forest).<\/p>\n<p>User can now press the action key (left <i>Control<\/i> by default) to get the screen to select a different world, though only Icy Island is available in my case as I never completed the first world.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_50312\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-50312\" class=\"size-large wp-image-50312\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/world-switcher-700x461.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"402\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/world-switcher-700x461.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/world-switcher-300x197.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/world-switcher-768x505.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/world-switcher.webp 1015w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-50312\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">press Action key, allowing to switch world.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The version <b>redesigned the main character Tux<\/b>. The penguin now looks stereoscopic. And, it is animated when you&#8217;re not in control of it, which acts just like playing on its own and even sit on the ground and take a load off.<\/p>\n<p>It now jumps more like a human, and supports <b>creep forward<\/b> by press&#8217;n&#8217;holding down and moving left\/right. They include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Granito<\/b> &#8211; a friendly npc within Rooted Forest levels.<\/li>\n<li><b>Root Sapling<\/b> &#8211; spawns small roots pointing upwards, like Ghost Tree.<\/li>\n<li><b>Corrupted Big Granito<\/b>&#8211; a hostile version of the friendly Granito NPC.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50314\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio-700x365.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio-700x365.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio-300x157.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio.webp 747w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>SuperTux 0.7.0 also introduced new <b>Item Pocket<\/b> feature to save a powerup for later use.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>If you collect a flower while having a bonus greater than <code>GROWUP_BONUS<\/code>, that flower gets equipped and the old flower gets stored in the top left corner of the screen. Now, the player can press the new <code>ITEM<\/code> control (usually Select\/Back or Left Shift) to use the stored flower by throwing it up and catching it.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It also added local <b>multiple player mode<\/b>.
