Ubuntu announced<\/a> the 25.04 support end of life date yesterday:<\/p>\n Ubuntu announced its 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) release almost 9 months ago, on 17th April 2025 and its support period is now nearing its end. Ubuntu 25.04 will reach end of life on 15th January 2026.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Ubuntu 25.04 Desktop<\/p><\/div>\n After the end of life date, 25.04 will no longer receive kernel updates, security fixes, and other updates. Software developers. launchpad PPAs, and popular apps (e.g., Chrome and Firefox) will not update for this EOL distribution anymore.<\/p>\n As time goes on, there’ll be more and more security vulnerabilities discovered, and due to lack of patches they\u00a0make the system easy targets for malware and hackers.
