Then, add executable permission from file properties dialog, and finally click Run to start installing it.<\/p>\n<p>While, below will show you how to add the remote repository and install the Flatpak package manually.<\/p>\n<h3>Install GeForce Now Flatpak Package<\/h3>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> For Debian and Ubuntu based distributions, first open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command to install Flatpak daemon:<\/p>\n<pre>sudo apt install flatpak<\/pre>\n<p>Other Linux may follow the official <a href=\"https:\/\/flatpak.org\/setup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">setup guide<\/a> to enable Flatpak support.<\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> Next, run command to add the GeForceNOW remote repository:<\/p>\n<pre>flatpak remote-add --user --if-not-exists GeForceNOW https:\/\/international.download.nvidia.com\/GFNLinux\/flatpak\/geforcenow.flatpakrepo<\/pre>\n<p>In my case, I also need to add the Flathub repository for runtime dependencies:<\/p>\n<pre>flatpak remote-add --user --if-not-exists flathub https:\/\/dl.flathub.org\/repo\/flathub.flatpakrepo<\/pre>\n<p>If you want to install GeForce Now for all users in your Linux Distribution, then skip <code>--user<\/code> in the both commands above.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50516\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-add-geforce-700x325.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"283\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-add-geforce-700x325.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-add-geforce-300x139.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-add-geforce-768x357.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-add-geforce.webp 824w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> After added the flatpak repositories, finally run the command below to install the package:<\/p>\n<pre>flatpak install --user GeForceNOW com.nvidia.geforcenow<\/pre>\n<p>Also, skip <code>--user<\/code> option if you added the repositories without it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50517\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-install-geforce-700x587.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"512\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-install-geforce-700x587.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-install-geforce-300x252.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-install-geforce-768x644.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flatpak-install-geforce.webp 887w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After installed the package, search for and install it from either start menu or Gnome overview depends on your desktop environment (Log out and back in if app icon is not visible).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/launch-geforcenow.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"566\" height=\"295\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-50518\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/launch-geforcenow.webp 566w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/launch-geforcenow-300x156.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 566px) 100vw, 566px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And, run the command below regularly to check updates:<\/p>\n<pre>flatpak update com.nvidia.geforcenow<\/pre>\n<h3>Uninstall GeForce Now<\/h3>\n<p>To uninstall the package, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:<\/p>\n<pre>flatpak uninstall --delete-data com.nvidia.geforcenow<\/pre>\n<p>Here, skip <code>--delete-data<\/code> if you want to keep the personal app data which is stored in <code>.var\/app\/<\/code> directory.<\/p>\n<p>Then, remove the remote repository by running command:<\/p>\n<pre>flatpak remote-delete GeForceNOW<\/pre>\n<p>Finally run <code>flatpak uninstall --unused<\/code> to remove useless run-times.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NVIDIA GeForce Now added official Linux support yesterday via Flatpak package!
