The Beta 1 was released a month ago as the first development version for testing.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50537\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-700x438.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-700x438.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-300x188.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-768x480.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It introduced many exciting new features, include completely overhauled world map, redesigned character Tux, multiple player mode, new creep forward, new enemies and NPCs, Linux Flatpak package, revived Android support, and many other changes.<\/p>\n<p>The second Beta does not include so much exciting new features, but focuses on bug-fixes, editor improvements, and other minor new features.<\/p>\n<p>The Level Editor now always start in tile mode. Additional to arrow keys, it now supports using <code>WASD<\/code> keyboard keys to scrolling, and <code>Ctrl+H<\/code> to show or hide triggers.<\/p>\n<p>The editor now highlights the current tool in toolbox, updates toolbar when switching to tile\/object from menu, and does no longer refresh layers after any change.<\/p>\n<p>It also implemented new node circle graphics, made EditorComment a draggable, added open editor workaround for macOS, and fixed various bugs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux-leveleditor.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50538\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux-leveleditor-700x438.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux-leveleditor-700x438.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux-leveleditor-300x188.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux-leveleditor-768x480.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux-leveleditor.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Besides improvements to the level editor, the new Beta improved multiplayer option by replacing &#8220;Add player&#8221; option with &#8220;Add player (keyboard)&#8221; and &#8220;Add player (controller)&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It as well added <i>floating Tux Dolls<\/i>, deeply rooted song from Servalot, and re-added world select backgrounds in worldmaps..<\/p>\n<p>The oldbomb fuse time changed from 5s to 2s. Goldbomb does no longer drop coins when not glinted. And, Bullets can now bounce on slopes, and moves faster than Tux in water.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Option to allow ignoring the hardcoded player limit.<\/li>\n<li>Ctrl+Alt+g to toggle ghost mode.<\/li>\n<li>Allow building without networking support.<\/li>\n<li>Enable OpenGL support for Flatpak package.<\/li>\n<li>And many bug-fixes and other changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to Get SuperTux 0.7.0 Beta 2<\/h3>\n<p>For more about the new Beta, as well as the official installers (under <b>Assets<\/b> section), go to the Github release page via the link below:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-fill\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-to-vivid-purple-gradient-background has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/SuperTux\/supertux\/releases\/tag\/v0.7.0-beta.2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SuperTux 0.7.0 Beta2<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Linux user on AMD\/Intel platform may select download the <b>AppImage<\/b> package, add executable permission, and run to launch the game.<\/p>\n<p>As the package name says, it requires glibc &gt;= 2.38.
