And, an official flavor, <a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuunity.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ubuntu Unity<\/a>, maintains the desktop environment for Ubuntu users.<\/p>\n<p>However, because of busy life in university, the current Unity maintainer has no time to fix things. The flavor did not publish the 25.10 release due to ISO test issues, and, it <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.ubuntu.com\/archives\/technical-board\/2025-December\/003082.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missed the LTS qualifications<\/a> for next 26.04 LTS.<\/p>\n<p>GlaciaOS, as a new choice, is basically an Ubuntu remix. It features <b>a focused application launcher<\/b> (aka the dash) that can only search and launch installed applications. It as well include <b>VS code editor<\/b> and following default apps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mailspring email client.<\/li>\n<li>VLC media player.<\/li>\n<li>Rhythmbox music player.<\/li>\n<li>Shotwell photo manager and image viewer.<\/li>\n<li>Pluma text editor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No Snap, No Flatpak.
