The new 0.7.0 features completely redesigned character (the Tux), new background, music, and levels, multi-player mode, as well as revived Android support.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50537\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-700x438.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-700x438.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-300x188.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2-768x480.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/supertux070b2.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>First, <b>the penguin has been completely redesigned<\/b>. It now looks stereoscopic, runs and jumps more like a human. And, it features new <b>creep forward<\/b> action triggered by press&#8217;n&#8217;holding down and moving left\/right.<\/p>\n<p>The penguin body now turns fiery-red instead of wearing a cap after ate a fire-flower, and, the fireballs now feature new animation with burning effect. When idle (you&#8217;re not controlling it), it will play on its own and even sit on the ground and take a load off.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-tux.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50313\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-tux-700x508.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-tux-700x508.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-tux-300x218.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-tux-768x557.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/new-tux.webp 985w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This version also <b>overhauled the world I<\/b> (aka Icy Island) and <b>world II<\/b> (aka Rooted Forest). And, user can now press the action key (left <i>Control<\/i> by default) to switch between different worlds, though in my case only Icy Island is available.<\/p>\n<p>SuperTux 0.7.0 also added some <b>new enemies and NPCs<\/b>. They include <b>Granito<\/b> &#8211; a friendly npc within Rooted Forest levels, <b>Root Sapling<\/b> &#8211; spawns small roots pointing upwards like Ghost Tree, and <b>Corrupted Big Granito<\/b>&#8211; a hostile version of the friendly Granito NPC.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50314\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio-700x365.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"318\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio-700x365.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio-300x157.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/coruppted-granio.webp 747w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The 0.7.0 version as well added local <b>multiple player mode<\/b>, allowing to play with your friends on same screen with up to 4 players (penguins) with different or even same input devices (e.g., a keyboard).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/supertux-multiplayers.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50315\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/supertux-multiplayers-700x438.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/supertux-multiplayers-700x438.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/supertux-multiplayers-300x188.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/supertux-multiplayers-768x480.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/supertux-multiplayers.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Level Editor now always starts in tile mode.
