User can right-click on it to choose &#8220;<em>Playing Track<\/em>&#8220;, which will however display nothing when no audio is being played.<\/p>\n<p>To improve the feature, a new &#8220;<em>Playing or Selected<\/em>&#8221; mode is added. In the case, it will display the album art for either playing track, or selected track if nothing&#8217;s being played.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-50786\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/deadbeef-ablumode-700x414.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/deadbeef-ablumode-700x414.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/deadbeef-ablumode-300x177.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/deadbeef-ablumode-768x454.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/deadbeef-ablumode.webp 1049w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Other changes include the ability to use mouse <code>forward<\/code>\/<code>backward<\/code> buttons to play next or previous, default to GTK3 for UI plugin, new <em>stop after playback queue<\/em> option, as well as infinite looping support for SID files.<\/p>\n<p>With the new 1.10.2, it finally has out-of-the-box support for <b>MPRIS (multimedia keys)<\/b>, the standard D-Bus interface for controlling media players remotely.<\/p>\n<p>Meaning you can now control music playback either by using keyboard media keys (previously implemented via global shortcuts), panel widget (e.g., GNOME data &#038; time menu), or even from Gnome 49+ lock screen.
