Here&#8217;s how to install it in Ubuntu 24.04 and Ubuntu 26.04 LTS.<\/p>\n<p>GeForce Now is NVIDIA&#8217;s cloud gaming service that streams high-end PC games to laptops, phones, and TVs, allowing for better gaming experience without requiring high-end hardware.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>NVIDIA introduced the GeForce NOW Linux app more than half a year ago for Beta testing. By this <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nvidia.com\/blog\/geforce-now-thursday-linux-native-app\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announcement<\/a>, the app finally goes stable!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>The native Linux app for GeForce NOW is officially out of beta. GeForce NOW is also delivering new cloud optimizations that make Frame Generation feel even more responsive while streaming. On top of that, Performance members will see higher frame rates in demanding games thanks to a CPU performance adjustment.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/geforcenow-linuxapp.webp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-51847\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/geforcenow-linuxapp-700x405.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/geforcenow-linuxapp-700x405.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/geforcenow-linuxapp-300x173.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/geforcenow-linuxapp-768x444.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/geforcenow-linuxapp-1536x888.webp 1536w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/geforcenow-linuxapp.webp 1726w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Linux app is available through a Flatpak package that runs in sandbox and works in most Linux Distributions.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s however hosted in NVIDIA&#8217;s own repository, while, the GeForce related app packages in standard Flathub.org are unofficial!<\/p>\n<p><b>NOTE: Though the title says for Ubuntu, the guide works also on Debian, Linux Mint, and most other Linux that meet the GeForce NOW requirements.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3>Install GeForce NOW Flatpak package<\/h3>\n<p>Before installing the app, you need a dual-core <b>Intel or AMD<\/b> processor with 2.0GHz or faster frequency, <b>4GB<\/b> or higher RAM, and a modern GPU with H.264\/H.265 decoding support.<\/p>\n<p>For NVIDIA, it requires 580.126.07 or newer driver. For Intel\/AMD GPUs that use Mesa, it recommends Mesa &gt;= 24.2.8. And, a <b>15 Mbps<\/b> or faster required depends on your game.
