It&#8217;s however only available for Windows .exe installation so far, while the support for Linux, macOS, and MSIX installations is coming soon.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It so far supports using the <b>classic 2004 and 2017<\/b> Firefox icons, <b>Pride<\/b> (a Firefox icon using rainbow\/Pride colors) and <b>Minimal<\/b>, the simplified version of the app icon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxicon.webp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-51877\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxicon-700x497.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"433\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxicon-700x497.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxicon-300x213.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxicon-768x546.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxicon.webp 1434w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It as well supports 3 new special icons: <b>Kit<\/b>, <b>Pixelated<\/b>, and <b>Momo<\/b>, though user needs to set Firefox as default browser and pin to taskbar to unlock them.<\/p>\n<p>In my case in Windows 10 LTSC, the new icons work in taskbar after unlocked special icons and app list in the start menu, sadly not for the desktop shortcut and search result in app launcher.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_51878\" style=\"width: 351px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51878\" class=\"size-full wp-image-51878\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxnewicons.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"341\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxnewicons.webp 341w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/firefoxnewicons-300x253.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 341px) 100vw, 341px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-51878\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">New icons does NOT apply for desktop shortcut<\/p><\/div>\n<p>For AI, the new version now supports address bar quick action (type &#8220;Manage AI&#8221; in URL bar) to quickly open AI setting page.<\/p>\n<p>The Smart Window can now suggest groups of related tabs and propose a name for each group. Websites that try to open a WebSocket to a device on the local network will now ask for permission first. And, you can now keep a site&#8217;s cookies \/ data when you close the browser, without giving that site an exception from the privacy\/tracking protections.<\/p>\n<p>The local profile backup feature is finally made available for macOS. Meaning the three desktop platforms (Linux, Windows, and macOS) are all supported. And, backups can be restored across the three platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The full-page Translations now also translation the content loaded inside embedded frame, such as online payment forms, social media posts.
