It supports more input\/output channels that&#8217;s useful for an interface has many microphones\/outputs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, it added <b>FFmpeg 9.0<\/b> support for more decoding support, such as the HE-AAC audio variant where each AAC frame contains 960 audio samples instead of the more common 1024 samples.<\/p>\n<p>Due to Qt6 port, some features were missing. This Beta re-added the <i>Port Bass and Treble<\/i> effect, and the ability to import the old <code>.aup<\/code> files created by the old Audacity 2.x.<\/p>\n<p>It as well improved the clip editing experience and updated the export dialog with custom sample rate option, trim blank space on export, etc features added back.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-51951\" src=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/audacity4b-export-700x441.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"384\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/audacity4b-export-700x441.webp 700w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/audacity4b-export-300x189.webp 300w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/audacity4b-export-768x484.webp 768w, https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/audacity4b-export.webp 1165w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For Linux, the official <b>AppImage<\/b> package now also supports <code>arm64<\/code> based platform, such as Raspberry Pi and SnapDragon X laptops. Though, Linux Distribution packages and community maintained Flatpak have already support it for years.<\/p>\n<p>The Beta also improved the dependency management for package maintainers and those who building the app from source. It now <strong>can be built in an offline environment<\/strong>, making possible to build it into Ubuntu PPA with audio.com support.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes are mostly stability improvements and bug-fixes.
